Introduction
This series published by Harper Muse includes six Jane Austen novels released in 2023, with each book featuring a delicate laser-cut paper dust jacket (designed by Kate Armstrong) over textured boards with foil stamping, patterned endpapers, and a ribbon marker. Internally, the books feature decorative pages with pull quotes distributed throughout.
This series of books is complementary in style and design to the original Seasons Collection published by Thomas Nelson. The Seasons collection included four Jane Austen titles with the same jacket design but different coloured boards under the dust jacket, differently designed pull-quotes, sprayed edges or bookmarks, and a large but limited series print run (see below).
Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is also available with this cover design (not die-cut) in paperback in the Artisan Collection.

Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
HarperCollins, 9780785294634, Apr 27, 2023
In Jane Austen’s most popular novel, Elizabeth Bennet and eligible bachelor Fitzwilliam Darcy clash instantly. She finds him arrogant, conceited, and indifferent, disliking him even more when she discovers he has interfered in the relationship between his friend Bingley and Elizabeth’s older sister Jane.
In this classic comedy of misdirected manners, Austen shows readers how first impressions can’t always be trusted.

Persuasion – Jane Austen
HarperCollins, 9781400339679, Nov 7 2023
At twenty-seven, Anne Elliot is no longer considered young enough for worthy romantic prospects. Eight years earlier, she had been persuaded by her friend Lady Russell to break off her engagement to Frederick Wentworth, a handsome naval captain with neither fortune nor rank. What transpires when they encounter each other again is movingly told in this love story tinged with the heartache of missed opportunities.
This was Austen’s final fully completed novel, viewed by many literary scholars as her most maturely written work; its 1817 posthumous publication helped established Austen’s iconic place in literature’s pantheon of great writers. It explores such important themes as social mobility, class rigidity, the gender-centric skills required to navigate between public life and domestic life, and the ramifications of remaining true to one’s convictions vs being open to the suggestions of others.

Sense and Sensibility – Jane Austen
HarperCollins, 9781400339686, Nov 7 2023
For Elinor Dashwood, sensible and sensitive, and her romantic, impetuous younger sister Marianne, the prospect of marrying the men they love appears remote. In a world ruled by money and self-interest, the Dashwood sisters have neither fortune nor connections. Concerned for others and for social proprieties, Elinor is ill-equipped to compete with self-centered fortune-hunters like Lucy Steele, while Marianne’s unswerving belief in the truth of her own feelings makes her more dangerously susceptible to the designs of unscrupulous men.
Austen’s beloved classic, widely regarded as a shining example of Romantic epistolary fiction. It explores themes such as the legal ramifications of love and marriage in high society, sense (rational thought) vs. sensibility (emotions), gender roles in the eighteenth century, and the harmful effects of wealth and greed on relationships.

Emma – Jane Austen
HarperCollins, 9781400339662, Nov 7 2023
Beautiful, clever, and rich, Emma Woodhouse is perfectly content with her single life and sees no need for either love or marriage. However, nothing delights her more than interfering in the romantic lives of others. But when she ignores the warnings of her good friend, Mr. Knightley, and attempts to arrange a suitable match for her protégée, Harriet Smith, her carefully laid plans soon unravel and have consequences that she never expected.
This was Austen’s final novel published during her lifetime, viewed by literary scholars as both revolutionary and reflective of Austen’s maturity as a novelist; its 1815 publication helped established Austen’s iconic place in literature’s pantheon of great writers. It explores themes such as courtship and marriage in the Regency era; manners and etiquette; gender limitations; pride and vanity; and the power of imagination.
