About the Rock Point Timeless Classics

The Rock Point Timeless Classics editions (published by Quarto Group) combine classic literature with decorative design in an affordable package. Each book features vibrant debossed paper covers (illustrated front and back, often with gilt accents), ribbon bookmarks, decorative endpapers, and unabridged content, making them both practical and beautiful for display. They have a combination binding (sewn signatures inserted into glue) which is very important with thick books like this, as you need to be able to lay them flat to be able to read with comfort.

The first titles in this series were released in 2019. The volumes are reasonably large (9.25″ x 6.50″ / 23.5 cm x 16.5 cm), and they typically include a couple of thoughtful extras, such as introductions and timelines, which enrich the reading experience. Some come with ISBN stickers, but they are removable and if you’re careful they won’t damage the cover. However, the paper is a little thin (not quite bible thin, but you can see through them depending on the angle of the light), and most volumes lack illustrations, which is a bit disappointing the promise of those pretty covers.

*Note: not to be confused with the Timless Classics / Cranford Collection series published by RBA – review of those coming soon!
