The Union Square Co. Children's Signature Clothbound Editions series is a collection of unabridged timeless classics brought to life with contemporary illustrations by Jim Tierney, first released in 2024. Each book is beautifully bound in vibrant cloth covers with decorative stenciled page edges, offering a fresh take on beloved stories for both young readers and collectors. 

These are quite small format books – easy to pack in a bag – uniformly sized at 6.5″ tall and 5.5″ wide (slightly smaller than the Signature Clothbound Classics). Each title contains 10 black-and-white illustrations, and there's also a small illustration on the back cover.

The books are “hybrid” bound, meaning they have sewn signature blocks, but the sewn blocks are then glued into the spine. They include decorative headbands and a matching coloured ribbon bookmark. The cloth binding is sturdy and bright, with pretty decorative spine designs.

What are the Children's Signature Clothbound Editions?

Union Square also has a similar (taller, thinner, unillustrated) adult's line of clothbound editions as well. There is some cross-over of titles, e.g. Alice in Wonderland appears in both collections.
