Introduction & Series Review

This charming series includes themed collections of folklore tales, focusing on the natural world. The books are written by the co-founders of the Folklore Thursday website, Dee Dee Chainey and Willow Winsham, and include short folklore stories, with a little bit of local context (check out their website for an idea of the style). The covers are foiled, and the books are appealingly illustrated with black & white images by British artist Joe McLaren, who is also known for his illustrations of the Folio Society’s Hornblower novels and the cover art for Terry Pratchett Discworld Collector’s Library.
