Faerie Magazine's Enchanted Library series
The ‘Enchanted Library’ series is produced by Carolyn Turgeon, editor of Faerie Magazine. It includes a collection of exquisitely illustrated and beautifully designed so-called ‘lifestyle’ compendia, that incorporate the legends, lore, literature and art of various magical creatures, as well as fashion and beauty; and home, food, and entertaining with step-by-step crafts and recipes. The books are high quality, including Smyth-sewn pages and cloth binding, with the series so far including fairies and mermaids, and a new volume on unicorns due in mid-2020.
The Unicorn Handbook
This unicorn lifestyle companion includes history and lore, as well as diy projects such as making unicorn dust, or a unicorn tail loop braid. There are recipes to make a plum cake straight from the world of Alice in Wonderland and tips on how to throw a delightful unicorn garden party. And there’s also an exclusive interview with Peter S. Beagle, the author of the classic tale The Last Unicorn.
The book design includes a girl and unicorn image inset on the front cover; ornate metallic pink foil patterning on the front, spine, and back; pink stained edges; a satin bookmark, and quality paper.
The Mermaid Handbook
The second beautifully designed enchanted lifestyle compendium, packed with mermaid lore, legends, facts and trivia, lavish illustrations, and numerous step-by-step projects and recipes.
Divided into four sections—Fashion and Beauty; Arts and Culture; Real Mermaids and Where to Find Them; and Food, Entertaining and Stories of the Sea. DIY projects include making a sailor’s valentine; a mermaid comb and crown; a pearl and sequin paillette necklace; and tips on mermaid makeup and hair.
