Barnes & Noble: Deluxe Children’s Treasuries
These oversized, profusely illustrated ‘deluxe’ treasury editions in the Barnes & Noble collectible leatherbound classics series are usually tall, slim volumes (around 8″ x 10″ in size) and typically they collect several shorter children’s stories or extracts from longer novels into a single volume. As usual, the books feature a beautifully designed foil-stamped binding, with distinctive colored sprayed page edges and an attractive ribbon bookmark – with the main distinguishing element of this series being the larger size. The books originally retailed for around $25, but as of 2023 they have moved up to $40 each.
What is the binding made of?
Part of Barnes & Noble’s main line of leatherbound collectible editions, the deluxe children’s treasuries are bound in bonded leather (which is a combination of scrap leather and glue). Most of the titles have a paper illustration inset on the front cover and foil accents on covers that are illustrated front and back. They are usually distinguishable from other B&N leatherbound children’s titles because they are a couple of inches taller.
How many titles in the Barnes & Noble Children’s Treasuries Series?
This series is ongoing. As of April 2023, there have been 12 titles published with another anticipated at the end of the year.
