Gorgeous editions of classic fiction - new illustrated bibliographies feature

I have started a new feature here, providing links to illustrated bibliographies of the most beautiful editions of classic fiction, science fiction & fantasy, and – of course – all of my favourite vintage illustrators. The links and illustrations in each of the books are provided in separate pages, so I will make a short post each time I add in a new series, just so they can also be tagged.

Today we are starting with a couple of sets of classic fiction. First, these stunning Sterling editions of Shakespeare’s classic plays Hamlet, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing and Romeo and Juliet. Each of the plays feature the complete text along with incredible die-cut illustrations.

→ Visit the Sterling Signature Shakespeare page for a detailed slideshow and links to each of the books. Most of this set is still in print, but copies are disappearing fast.

The second set I have added is unfortunately out of print, but I know a lot of collectors are still trying to complete their set, so I’ve added in links to help you get there faster.

→ Check out the Mr Boddington’s Penguin Classics series, featuring a lovely selection of British classic fiction: Alice in Wonderland, Jane Eyre, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Wuthering Heights.
