Feedback on new collector’s checklist function

Published by Daisy on

Hello beautiful booklovers!

I’m experimenting with a new feature and I’d really love your thoughts on it. Whilst it’s of course great for my website stats if people come and view pages regularly, as a fellow collector I understand it’s not always that convenient to pull up a webpage to figure out which books in a collection are next on your hunting list.

So I’ve been playing around with making a downloadable PDF version of a book collection list that allows you to check off the books you already have and narrow in on those you don’t. It may not be all that useful for series that are constantly being updated (that’s one reason why I run this website after all!), but I was thinking it might be convenient for older completed series to help you find missing volumes in a collection.

For this first list I started with a beloved vintage book series called the “Cranford Series” – inspiration for many other book designs both during Victorian times and today. Link to the checklist is on the page (which also has background on the series and illustrations of all the books) and also below for conventience.

I’d love comments on whether you think this is a useful feature, if it worked for you, potential design improvements, priorities for future lists, etc!

Warmly

Original Cranford Series Checklist

Clicking this button will download a PDF checklist of the 24 titles in the original British Cranford series. Please note this is an experimental feature – feedback is very welcome!

So excited for this!! I’m a list maker myself 😉 I use the app Libib to keep track of my book inventory and categorize them by collection. However, I don’t have lists to cross-check the books in those collections to make sure I have them all. I check your website once a month and enjoy it immensely. Thank you so very much for all the information you provide and for creating the lists. You’re the best 💛

Lovely feature, and extremely useful when it comes to the longer list.
My only suggestion would be to add the ISBN numbers if possible.

Thank you for your lovely work!

Thanks – great idea for the newer books that have ISBNs 🙂

I love lists, so something like this will always be a winner for me!

Haha, lists definitely speak to the collector in me 😂
