Illuminated Carmilla & The Black Book | Kickstarter Highlights

A quick post today, just to draw your attention to a couple of interesting Kickstarters that are currently running that you might like to check out.
The Illuminated Carmilla
Beehive Books are raising funds for a new entry in their wonderful Illuminated Classics series, The Illuminated Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu. This book is “the vampire saga that inspired DRACULA, pioneered depictions of queer longing in European literature, and created one of the iconic antiheroines of gothic fiction.”
Carmilla will be illustrated by Rosemary Valero-O’Connell, and going by their previous releases, it promises to be stunning. There will be three editions – a standard hardback with a slipcase; a numbered edition (limited to 300 copies) with a clothbound slipcase and additional production effects); and a lettered edition (limited to 26 copies) in a clamshell solander case with laser-cut metal plate doors and an original drawing from the illustrator.
The Black Book
Hungry Minds are raising funds for a sequel to their incredibly popular publication The Book: The Ultimate Guide to Rebuilding Civilization called The Black Book:The Ultimate Guide to Alternative Inventions That Never Made History. This time they are imagining alternate timelines, “a world of gears and levers, of wild inventions that run from the ingenious to the ridiculous.”
If you buy through the Kickstarter, you get your name included in the book, exclusive spreads with bonus inventions, as well as savings on the retail price.
